After on-site inspection, consulting relevant construction personnel, reviewing construction records, sampling, testing and analysis, and combining with similar problems in the application process of other pools in China, Professor Huang proposed the following analysis on the bulging phenomenon of the pool:

1. There are many embedded parts in the pool, such as inlet and outlet, handrail, lighting,etc, which do not take the correct construction steps, resulting in water leakage after using normally.
2. The concrete substrate on the back is loose and porous, so that the above water leakage and water seepage from water strings inside the concrete.
3. Water through the pores and capillary phenomenon between the concrete reserse osmosis to the back of the polyurea coating, thus forming a bulge.
4. The coating is pure polyurea products, good mechanical properties, exclude the possibility of hybrid polyurea moisture bulge.
Rectification measures:
1. In the dense area of local bulge, remove the coating and re-apply;
2. Pay attention to the QTG bonding of new and old polyurea coatings to prevent delamination in the later stage.
More than two years after the repair, although the original small bulge still exits, there is no trend of continuing to expand; The repair area no longer has a bulge, which is recognized by the owner.
